Manawatu, Rangitikei & Tararua Manawatu, Rangitikei & Tararua
small-town charm with sophisticated appeal
Conveniently located half way between Taupo and Wellington, our region combines the charm of rural New Zealand with the sophisticated provincial appeal of Palmerston North city.

The landscape sweeps dramatically from the Ruahine and Tararua mountain ranges, through the spectacular Manawatu Gorge and picturesque Pohangina Valley, along Manawatu River to the coastal plains of Tangimoana and Himatangi. Privacy and relaxation for your Manawatu conference delegates are key in this dramatic area.

Manawatu conference
Manawatu is a busy transport hub with easy access to and from the region by car, bus, rail and air. Palmerston North International Airport, a mere 10 minutes from the city centre, has regular flights throughout New Zealand, making our region easily-accessible for any Palmerston North conference. Local taxi companies and public buses provide efficient transportation around Palmerston North and Feilding. For those with time on their side, walking offers an opportunity to set your own pace, get off the beaten track and meet the locals. This is the perfect region to send your team for New Zealand incentive travel.

Manawatu offers accommodation options to suit every preference and pocket including sophisticated central city hotels and motels, a luxury 5 star lodge, holiday parks with cabin and camping facilities, backpackers, rural retreats, bed and breakfasts, home-stays and farm-stays. A Manawatu conference can be as large or as small as you like, there is a venue to suit every situation.
The name ‘Manawatu’ is derived from two words, Manawa and tu. Manawa refers to the heart – tu describes something that has come to a halt. The ancestor Hau uttered the words “ka tu taku manawa” meaning ‘my heart stands still’ at the sight of the awesome Manawatu River.

Palmerston North conference
Palmerston North City is well laid-out and lively, and offers a melting pot of cultures with the city’s ethnic mix reflected in its many cafes and restaurants. Heritage is celebrated at the New Zealand Rugby Museum, the oldest and arguably the first museum in the world devoted to the sport of rugby. The city relishes its excellent sport/recreation facilities ranging from the high-tech Sport and Rugby Institute through to the many bush reserves and tracks that enhance Palmerston North. For business travel, Palmerston North is the centre of Manawatu.

A wide variety of Palmerston North conference and meeting venues is offered. Accommodation is abundant in Palmerston North, with hotels, motels and lodges, many of which have onsite conference facilities for your convenience.

Feilding conference
Feilding is an authentic rural township and the hub of Manawatu’s important agricultural sector and home to one of the largest stock sale yards in the Southern Hemisphere. It's a welcoming and vibrant place to visit, with specialist shops, a boutique movie theatre, weekly farmers market, no traffic lights, no parking meters, and friendly people. Manchester Square provides the focal point of the town, featuring the original 1902 clock, restored and housed in a new heritage-style tower. Feilding is also 14 times winner of New Zealand's Most Beautiful Town award.

If you’re planning a Fielding conference or event, there are many great locations to book as your venue. Local accommodation venues offer smaller conference and meeting locations, while the Feilding Civic Centre offers a large convention area, for over 200 people.
